What tasks should I look at today?
Are my project deadlines being met?
What is my team working on today?
Roost is a to-do platform on Teamnest to help you take control of your work. You can see tasks assigned to you by different team members with due dates and priorities. You can break down tasks into sub-tasks and assign them to relevant team members. You can collaborate with team members on a task by leaving notes or uploading documents.
You and your team members can create tasks under ‘Buckets’. A bucket could be a project, a milestone, or any other high-level goal that you would like to group a set of tasks by. You can view the progress of the Bucket to analyse completion vis-a-vis the deadlines.
Create a Bucket
Admin rights are required to create a Bucket.
- Go to Admin Section > Organization > Buckets
- Click on ‘Add Bucket’
- The Name and Description of the Bucket should be entered. An Owner should be assigned to the Bucket. This person will be responsible for adding, managing, and ensuring the completion of tasks within the Bucket.
- Multiple Buckets can also be added in bulk using the Bulk Add option, with the help of the sample template provided.
- On the Bucket master page, upload the sample xlsx file and click on Submit.
Adding a Task and Sub-tasks
- Go to Roost from the left navigation.
- Click on the ‘Add a Task’ option from the Employee Section > Roost.
- Enter the name of the task. Select the appropriate Bucket it belongs to and set the Completion Date. Assign the task to the person responsible for carrying it out.
- You can add a recurring task by selecting the desired frequency— weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or quarterly—based on how often the task needs to repeat.
- That’s it. You can add multiple tasks either for yourself or assigned to other team members.
- If a task requires multiple people to complete, create sub-tasks under the main task. Assign each sub-task to a specific team member responsible for completing it.
- To add a sub-task, click on the name of the specific Task and click on the plus icon. Now Add the required information for the sub-task in the Add Sub Task page.

You're all set. You can create multiple sub-tasks and assign them to different team members. Each person will be able to view and track the sub-task assigned to them from their account.
