Establishing existing reporting structures within your organization is crucial as this enables your helpsemployees to manage attendance, request leaves, and submit expense reimbursements through TeamNest. It's advisable to define a Workflow specifying the individuals authorized to approve or reject these requests. (Learn more about Workflows here).
The Reporting Structure helps determine this hierarchy in a workflow. Let's see an example to understand this.
- On TeamNest, you can create various Reporting Structures as per applicability. For example, let us assume you need to setup one Reporting Structure called Expense Reporting. This can be done from the below path:
Go to Admin section > Organization >Reporting Structure and click on the Add Reporting Structure tab.
2. You can name it Expense Reporting and assign it a priority. The priority determines the order in which the roles are displayed on the page, 1 being the highest priority. Submit this form to create the Role.
3. To designate the individual responsible for this role and to add the list of employees reporting to them, click on the Role.
4. Now you can add the respective employees reporting the Reporting Role using the Add Employees tab.
5. Now Submit the form. You now have an Expense Reporting Head and his reporting structure.
Later, you can create an Approval Workflow where Expense Approvals are routed to the concerned person by nominating the user role responsible for Expense Requests approval.
IMPORTANT:
Kindly note that to assign a team member reporting roles such as Accounts Head or Expense Head, ensure that the specific employee's Access Role is configured as "Supervisor" using the following path:
Navigate to Admin Section > Employee Grid > Access Role dropdown list. Then set the Access Role for the desired employee as "Supervisor".
Now the concerned Reporting Manager as per the set Reporting Structure can manage and approve requests from here.
