The Teamnest setup file refers to the structured template that is used to input employee information into your Teamnest domain. This file assists in initializing the portal with the necessary employee data before you can start using Teamnest for your HRMS requirements.
The content of a data setup file for the Teamnest portal has the following sections:
Instructions:
The Instructions sheet provides a fundamental understanding and guidelines regarding the steps to enter your organization's data into the Teamnest setup file.
Organizational Details:
In this sheet, you can add the key information regarding your organization including its Name, Address, PAN/TAN details, Contact Information and more.
General Policies:
In the General Policies section, you can add data which plays a crucial role in establishing Calendar Years and ensuring compliance for the company’s contributions to statutory deductions such as Provident Fund, Employee State Insurance Contribution as well as data regarding the Attendance and Leave Cycle details etc.
Custom Lists:
The custom list includes Designation, Department, Location, and Allowance details that can be tailored specifically to match your organization's requirements.
Employee List:
This includes details of the essential data regarding the employees within the organization, which include their Names, Identification Details, Contact Information, Designations, Departments, Personal Information, etc.
Cost to Company (CTC):
This includes various components that contribute to the overall compensation package offered to an employee i.e. Basic, House Rent Allowance, Education Allowance etc.
Attendance Policy:
This refers to a set of guidelines and rules established by your organization to regulate and manage employee attendance and punctuality which include the Attendance Cycle, Shift Details, Minimum Working Hours and more.
Leaves Policy:
The Leave Policy is a set of guidelines and rules that outline the types of leave available to employees, the number of leaves for each leave type, the procedures for requesting and approving leave, and the conditions under which leave can be taken in your organization.
Steps to Enable Macros in the TeamNest Setup file:
The Teamnest setup file is the structured template designed to input employee information into the Teamnest database. After you have successfully added the data to the provided Setup template, it gets exported to a CSV (Comma-Separated Values) file, ensuring compatibility with our Teamnest software's data import capabilities.
Before adding data in the setup template, you will be required to enable the Macros. Kindly follow the given path to enable macros:
- Locate the Teamnest Setup File:
- Find the Teamnest setup file for which you want to enable macros.
- Find the Teamnest setup file for which you want to enable macros.
- Right-click on the Excel File:
- Right-click on the setup file icon.
- Right-click on the setup file icon.
- Select Properties:
- From the menu kindly select "Properties" at the bottom.

- Access Security Settings:
- In the Properties dialog box, navigate to the default General tab.

- Click on ‘Unblock’ option:
- Look for an "Unblock" button near the bottom of the Properties dialog box.
- If the file is blocked due to security reasons, you might see this option. Click on "Unblock" to remove the security block.
- Open Excel File
Now kindly Open the Setup file to check if macros are now enabled. - Apply Changes:
- After clicking "Unblock" (if applicable), click on "Apply" or "OK" to confirm the changes.

- After inputting data into the setup file, use the Start button on the Instructions sheet to verify and export the data.
- Subsequently, the file will conduct an error check on the inputted data.
- If no errors are detected, the setup file data will be exported to a CSV format file, which you can save on your PC/Laptop.
- Once the process is successfully completed, you can share the CSV output file with our Support Team, so that they can upload the same and start the implementation of data on your domain on the Teamnest server.
